Most existing rattan species grow in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, 70% of which are in Indonesia. Weaving rattan baskets, furniture, and lamps is a specialized skill passed down from parents to children. This makes each item not only unique but also socially sustainable. Because rattan grows rapidly and needs the trees in the forest to climb, its production indirectly helps preserve the rainforest. The Maze lamp collection is inspired by existing vintage lamp designs, to which our designers have given a modern twist. The lamp is beautifully complemented by a stylish fabric cord, which gives the natural look a luxurious finish.
Regarding maintenance, this rattan lamp requires little attention. As rattan is a natural product, it likes a stable environment. To keep the shade dust-free, a soft duster or a vacuum cleaner on the lowest setting with a brush attachment is sufficient. This keeps the 'strands' of the wickerwork open for the most beautiful light. If a stain appears, you can carefully wipe it with a lightly damp cloth – but be careful not to soak the rattan. By not placing the lamp directly next to a burning radiator, you prevent the material from drying out and the wickerwork will remain supple and beautiful in color for years.
