This teak dining chair with armrests is the perfect addition to your interior! The rattan in the seat and backrest gives a warm, natural look, while the teak base provides a sturdy foundation. The dimensions are 61x63x84 cm and the seat height is 45 cm, so you can sit comfortably. Prefer a sleeker design? There is also a version without armrests!
All our Nova collection items, such as this chair, are made of teak wood. The seat and back are woven with rattan cane, a traditional method (caning) that makes the chairs strong and durable due to the criss-cross weaving. Rattan is a climbing palm that uses trees for support and can grow up to 100 meters long. It mainly occurs in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia. Teak has been popular for furniture for centuries due to its durability, even outdoors. Teak is indigenous to Asia, but large plantations have been growing in Indonesia since the 16th century. Because it does not grow in the natural forests of Indonesia, no tropical forests are cut down for teak wood. The Indonesian government has regulated the timber trade since 2016 to ensure that only legal wood is imported into the EU. These aspects together make teak production in Indonesia and its use for furniture both economically and ecologically sustainable.
Because we work with natural materials, it is important to maintain the chair properly. Keep the humidity in your home between 40% and 60%, especially in winter, and do not place the chair too close to a heater or air conditioner. Wiping it occasionally with a damp cloth is sufficient to keep the chair clean. Small shrinkage cracks may occur, but are normal. Contact our customer service for larger cracks.
